Coxwold is a pretty North
Yorkshire village buit mainly in stone, with an excellent
inn and beautiful church. Being only a short ride into York,
the visitor can absorb all the atmosphere of the area, being
steeped in history and offering some superb country walks
and drives. |

Places of interest include:
Newburgh Priory, Shandy Hall, Byland,
Rievaulx and Fountains Abbey, Castle Howard,
Nunnington, Beningbrough and Newby Halls.
All are within a 20 mile radius as are the market towns of
Helmsley, Thirsk and Easingwold. York
is also close at hand for shopping and sight seeing. The East
Coast resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Robin
Hood's Bay where images of smugglers abound are a short
hop away. En route you can drive over the brooding North
Yorkshire Moors, home of the North Yorkshire Moors
Railway, used on the TV programme Heartbeat and in the
film "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone".
There are a variety of local pubs and restaurants
as well as our own dining facilities.
